BOGARDE SIGNS FOR CHELSEA

The 29-year-old defender has ended weeks of speculation regarding his future by agreeing to join Gianluca Vialli`s men, and has signed in time to be registered for The Blues` Uefa Cup campaign.

"My ultimate dream came true this morning - a move to England with Chelsea," confirmed Bogarde on his own website. "I have signed a four-year deal with Chelsea and join them on a free transfer from Barcelona.

"The deal was negotiated by my agents Paul Foortse and Sigi Lens. I leave Barcelona on exceptionally good terms after two and a half great years at the Nou Camp, in which the team and I enjoyed championship and cup success.

"The transfer deal was conducted amicably and I‚ÇÖm particularly pleased that it went through without being leaked to the press.

"There were a number of other clubs interested in me, but I believe Chelsea have got a team that can win the Premiership and that made them the most attractive option."
