LUA-LUA SET TO LEAVE?

NEWCASTLE UNITED could be set to make a firm bid for Colchester forward Tresor Lomano Lua-Lua this week, but Tottenham will fight the North Eastern giants all the way for the signature of the English starlet.

The 19-year-old hit-man has attracted the scouts from most Premiership clubs to Layer Road over the last year, and Ruud Gullit had a £300,000 bid turned down for the player whilst he was in charge, but Robson could now rekindle Newcastle's interest in the player.

Both Robson and Spurs assistant manager Stewart Houston watched Colchester`s 1-1 draw with Oldham on Monday, and both went away impressed and could battle it out this week for the signature of the Zaire-born forward.

Sources in London are suggesting that George Graham is favourite but, again, reports in the North East are saying Newcastle should land him.

Despite the interest though, U`s manager Steve Whitton has continually stressed that he would like to keep Lua-Lua and he will try and resist all overtures from any Premiership club.
