BOSNICH HITS OUT AT UNITED

AUSTRALIAN international Mark Bosnich has hit out at his Manchester United employers, claiming that his return to Old Trafford has been a nightmare, and that he feels totally humiliated by the whole experience.

28-year-old Bosnich has failed to establish himself in Sir Alex Ferguson's side since moving on a free transfer from Aston Villa at the start of last season as a supposed replacement for Danish keeper Peter Schmeichel.

The Socceroos custodian was unable to convince Ferguson that he was the man to fill the gap left by Schmeichel's departure, and this led the Scotsman to buy French international Fabien Barthez for £7 million in the close season, moving Bosnich down the pecking order.

Bosnich and former team-mate Massimo Taibi received the backing of former United great Schmeichel during the summer, with the Dane claiming that the duo were not given enough time to prove themselves at the club.

Now Bosnich has hit out at the Premiership champions, rueing the day that he walked back into the club after a successful seven-year spell with Aston Villa, but he is determined to fight on, after rejecting a move to Martin O'Neill's Celtic.

"For a year I've done everything right, everything people wanted of me and where has it got me? I've been humiliated and undermined from the day I walked back into United," Bosnich told The Sunday People.

"You'd think that when you are signing a replacement for Schmeichel you'd be there. But Fergie wasn't, and I don't know why," he added.

"He was the one who wanted me but now it seems he's changed his mind. But that isn't my fault and it's no reason for me to quit.

"I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. That's why I'll never throw the towel in at this club, why should I?

"I turned down Celtic because they only play four games a season, against Rangers, and that would drive me mental.

"Walking away isn't an option for me. I signed a contract in good faith, I've never broken one in my life and I don't intend to start now."
