FA INVESTIGATE AGENT ROACH

CONTROVERSIAL agent Dennis Roach is the subject of an FA investigation over his involvement in the transfers of Paulo Wanchope to Manchester City and Duncan Ferguson to Everton this summer.

Roach was criticised by Newcastle manager Bobby Robson after Duncan Ferguson's return to Everton almost collapsed last month over his pay-off from The Magpies.

Manchester City manager Joe Royle then revealed his disdain at being kept waiting to speak to Wanchope over personal terms, despite having agreed a fee with West Ham for the Costa Rican.

It has now emerged that formal complaints - thought to be through the PFA - have been made to the FA in regard to both transfers, enabling them to open up an investigation into the nature of the delays and as to whether any regulations were broken by Roach.

An FA spokesman confirmed: "Dennis Roach is under investigation following a letter of complaint we have received regarding particular transfer cases."
