ENRIQUE RETURNS FOR BARCA

LUIS ENRIQUE is set to end his enforced absence from the Barcelona side on Saturday when they take on Malaga in La Liga's opener after over six months out through injury.

A long-term knee problem forced Enrique out of the Euro 2000 tournament in which Spain managed to get to the quarter-finals only to fall to France.

The injury meant that any proposed transfer, with Chelsea and Newcastle strongly linked, had to be postponed whilst Spain and Barca missed Enrique's versatility in the run in to the championship.

Enrique's appearance at training was greeted with a round of applause by his teammates - showing exactly how much he is appreciated by his peers and his return to the Barca fold will greatly increase their Liga championship credentials.
