SAVIO`S AGENT ADMITS BLUES INTEREST

Areias has said that the Brazilian winger is currently concentrating on playing for Madrid in Tuesday`s Champions League opener against Sporting Lisbon.
"We are not willing to negotiate with middlemen or with third parties," said Areias "So far the offer of Chelsea is informal.
"If somebody wants Savio, that is the Chelsea or any other club, then they have to contacts us. I have to clarify though that Savio doesn't have interest in leaving.
"He has a son born in Madrid, their family is already happy here but, if an interesting offer existed and Real Madrid wants to accept, we will speak to them."
Areias also stated that Savio was not unhappy with new president Florentino Perez, but that he did not like he predecessor Lorenzo Sanz, and now that he is gone the player is happier at the club.
"We asked Sanz for an offer of a new contract and they did not even answer us, that hurt the player," Areias admitted.
"I have spoken this afternoon with him (Savio) and I have told him that everything is calm."
Madrid are known to want a new striker, and the sale of Savio is possibly the means with which they can do so, after Steve McManaman won his prolonged fight to stay at the club.
Marcelo Salas is thought to be the target, but nothing can be done until Savio`s situation is resolved, and Areias is meeting Real general manager Jorge Valdano on Tuesday to discuss the situation.
