PEACOCK ON HIS WAY BACK

BRISTOL CITY striker Lee Peacock is hoping for a return to action in two weeks, after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot from his calf.

Peacock joined City for £600,000 in the summer but he has been dogged by the injury since the match against Rotherham at Ashton Gate towards the end of last month, and manager Danny Wilson is happy to see that the player is now on the road to recovery.

"Lee is looking at another two weeks out of action, which is a lot better than it might have been," said Wilson.

"We were getting quite worried about him, but the surgery has gone well and his recovery should now be straightforward."

The 23-year-old attacker is still seeking his first goal for The Robins in the league and this latest setback means that the club are now without both of Wilson's top signings, with Mark Lever also sidelined while he recovers from a knee injury.

"We're awaiting the results of a scan on Mark, but he reports the knee as feeling better, so hopefully that is a good sign," added Wilson.
