RADEBE ON COMEBACK TRAIL AFTER INJURY SCARE

LEEDS UNITED captain Lucas Radebe has spoken about the horrific injury he picked up after a clash with fellow team-mate Michael Duberry in the side‚ÇÖs 4-0 defeat again Barcelona in the Champions League.

The South African international was stretchered off with only minutes remaining in the match, after the players heads collided when both attempted to clear the ball from Barcelona striker Alfonso.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star remained in a Barcelona hospital, missing United‚ÇÖs matches against Ipswich and AC Milan, but how now revealed how he felt after the incident.

"The first thing I remember is coming round in hospital with my head pounding like mad," said Radebe. "I have since seen video replays of the incident and I have to admit it looks a bit scary.

"I do not remember a thing about the clash because I was out cold, unconscious for a full minute.

"In fact, I was on pain killers until this Wednesday because the head aches were so bad. I‚ÇÖm feeling really good now and can‚ÇÖt wait to get back playing again."

The 31-year-old was also delighted to see his colleagues bounce back from their thrashing at the hands of Barcelona, when they beat AC Milan in midweek at Elland Road.

"The lads bounced back with a terrific win against AC Milan on Tuesday. That really lifted us, and it is also a big boost that we are now getting players back from injury."
