DOMINGUEZ GLAD TO BE BACK

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR winger Jose Dominguez has admitted that he thought he had played his last game for the Premiership club, before being recalled for the Worthington Cup second round tie against Brentford last month.

Having fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane under George Graham, the 26-year-old had been available for transfer at the start of this season, but he now looks to be making a comeback at the London club, after winning a place on the bench for the trip to Elland Road last week.

"Football is very funny," the Portuguese international told the official Tottenham website. "I never thought I would be back playing for Tottenham, not even one game, and it was such a nice feeling to come on against Brentford.

"I was involved in the squad at Leeds and after ten months I think I might have a chance.

"It is very nice to be back with the first team, to train, to play and the other night against Brentford was my first game in ten months in front of the fans. It was such a great feeling and I got such great support.

"The fans are really nice to me and they make me enjoy working even when things aren't going well."

Dominguez had been linked with a move to Greek side PAOK during the summer, but he is now focussed on proving that he is good enough to make it in the top flight in England.

"My aim is to work very hard for myself and if the manager wants to give me another chance I hope I will be ready for it."
