TOTTI REVEALS REAL DREAM
Totti scored the third goal in Italy's 3-0 win over Romania as the Azzuri got their World Cup 2002 campaign off to a flying start and then admitted that he may favour a move away from Roma and Italy at the end of his current deal in 2003.
"I have always liked Real from when I was a boy. If I had the to play outside of Italy then I would like to go to Spain," said Totti.
There has been talk in Italy that Totti may not renew his contact and leave Roma, as a free agent, to further his footballing ambitions.
"My contract does not expire for a long time so there is no rush. I want to win the Scudetto and Roma have signed some great players so I have no worries at the moment," added Totti.
Despite Roma's neighbours Lazio winning the Scudetto and Totti being a part of the Italy side that lost European Championship final in the summer to France, the last twelve months have been the best of his career.
Totti has stepped from the shadow of Alex Del Piero to become a fixture in the national team and must be a front-runner to take the captaincy when Paolo Maldini retires after the World Cup campaign is over.
