GIGGS HITS BACK AT TOSHACK

MANCHESTER UNITED and Wales winger has admitted to being "deeply hurt" by comments made by former Wales boss John Toshack over his commitment to his country.

The 26-year-old, who starred for Wales in their 1-1 draw with Norway feels that the criticism aimed at him and others including Robbie Savage and Gary Speed from Toshack, is unfair and unwarranted.

"What has been said hurt me deeply," said Giggs. "These things do get to you. I couldn't believe what was said about me and the rest of the lads, and it has certainly got to me.

"I suppose people have to say things on TV that are controversial, or they won't get asked back on again. But I was pretty upset by the stuff that was aimed at me.

"Nobody can doubt my desire to play for Wales and what I put into a game. Maybe if I get over half a dozen crosses in this game it will shut people up."
