WOLVES EYE UP PEACOCK

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS are looking at Darren Peacock as they continue to look for an experienced defender.

Blackburn Rovers boss Greame Souness has admitted that he has received an enquiry from Wolves to take Peacock to Molineux either on loan or on a permanent basis.

Wolves boss Colin Lee has said that he is searching for players but did not comment on Peacock specifically.

"We have made many enquiries, the search is on-going and we looked at players who were on international duty this week," said Lee.

"We are short in that position, with Ludovic Pollet just coming back from injury and then having a suspension later this month.

"And Joleon Lescott is due to go off with the England youths in November."

The 32-year-old centre half has not played for Blackburn since Souness took charge at Ewood Park in March and seems to have no future at the club.

Although Peacock has already turned down moves to QPR, Portsmouth and Cardiff, he is likely to welcome the chance to play first-team football at a big club and put himself in the shop window.
