GIALLANZA OUT FOR SEASON

NORWICH CITY have confirmed that the injury suffered by striker Gaetano Gianllanza during Saturday's 4-2 win over Sheffield United was an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The Swiss-Italian striker had a scan on Monday night and the results where released by a club spokesman hours after.

"The injury suffered by Gaetano is anterior cruciate ligaments, similar to the injury suffered by Craig Bellamy and Jean-Yves de Blasiis," said the spokesman. "It is not expected that Gaetano will play again this season."

Former Norwich striker Bellamy was out for nine months with his injury and it is thought Gaetano will spend a similar time out of action.

The 26-year-old has scored five times in 25 appearances for the Canaries this season but it now looks as though his season is already over.
