SEEDORF COULD BE LAZIO'S SAVIOUR

CLARENCE SEEDORF could be the black player that will attempt to bring an end to the racism at Lazio - if the Roman side swoop to sign the player before the end of the Italian deadline.

There have been suggestion in the Italian press that Marcelo Salas' tenure at Lazio is limited by a difficult relationship with coach Sven Goran Eriksson - and this ultimately could pave the way for a swap deal with Inter for Seedorf.

Eriksson has long suggested that the arrival of a black player at the club is the only way to cur the racist problems that have beset the club in recent seasons - and Dutchman Seedorf fits the bill.

A talented midfielder who can be wildly effective in possession, Seedorf has not performed as well for Inter since his arrival in the winter from Real Madrid, as many expected.

Seedorf, who has also played for Sampdoria and Ajax, has acquired a reputation as a trouble-maker in the dressing room, stemming from incidents at Ajax which saw the Surinamese stir up a near-rebellion because of a perceived bias for older players.
