FEYENOORD RUN RIOT OVER ROOSENDAAL

FEYENOORD stormed to a 5-1 win over RBC Roosendaal to go top of the Eredivisie on Thursday after Vitesse Arnhem's 2-0 defeat at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.

Former Newcastle forward, Jon Dahl Tomasson got the home side into the groove with the opening goal after just 12 minutes when he stuck out his boot to deflect Patrick Paauwe's shot into the net.

A minute before half time and defender Christian Gyan got the all important second as he fired in a close range blast from a corner.

Midfield general Paul Bosvelt made the game safe with a goal just two minutes into the second half and Feyenoord went nap when Paauwe and Gyan scored in the 52 and 57th minute.

Damien Hertog got a consolation goal for Roosendaal in the 66th minute but by then Feyenoord were on cruise control and they played out the rest of the game in complete safety.

Both Feyenoord and Vitesse have 22 points but after Thursday's win, Feyenoord now have a better goal difference and with two games in hand could stretch their lead to six points.
