CURBISHLEY FINALLY NETS FISH

CHARLTON have completed the signing of Bolton defender Mark Fish for £700,000, with Alan Curbishley finally landing his man.

The South African international put pen-to-paper at The Valley after seeing a move to London collapse in the summer. "I`m absolutely delighted," Curbishley told the official Charlton website. "It`s no secret I have been trying to sign him for some time.

"We were nearly there in the summer but it fell through for various reasons.

"But now we have managed to nick Mark for what we think is a good price.

"I know he has always been desperate to come here."

Fish echoed those sentiments, stating: "It`s taken a lot longer than I anticipated but I`m looking forward to playing for Charlton.

"I hope I can make the squad a bit stronger."

The 26-year-old will bring one vital ingredient to Curbishley`s squad, according to the highly-rated young boss.

"Firstly, he`s very experienced," he noted.

"He has been in The Premiership before and been on the international scene.

"But the main attribute I am after is his pace."
