DI CANIO IN HOT WATER OVER OUTBURST
Earlier in the week, outspoken di Canio claimed that Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole were not good enough to play international football and that neither player should have been selected for the friendly match against his native Italy in Turin on Wednesday.
The former Sheffield Wednesday star has also, in the past, launched an attack on fellow Hammer Nigel Winterburn, who he branded as a coward following a clash between the two players when they were playing for their former clubs, although the former England stopper bares no grudge over these claims, which di Canio made in his recent autobiography.
However, Hammers boss Redknapp is not in such a forgiving mood, blasting the Italian forward for his latest outburst and insisting that he will be discussing the matter further with di Canio.
"Enough is enough," fumed Redknapp. "Paolo is upsetting people left, right and centre.
"Joe Cole had the hump with what he said about him the other week and I know that Rio has been sickened by this latest outburst.
"Paolo is entitled to an opinion. But when it involves people he works with every day he should keep it to himself.
"This is the last thing in the world I need and I was going to pull him in after training today.
"But he left the ground very quickly. However, if he thinks I am going to forget it, he could not be more wrong."
Redknapp signed the controversial playmaker from The Owls for £1.75 million in January 1999 and he has been instrumental in turning the club's fortunes around recently, after a poor start to the new Premiership season.
But this latest incident has cast doubt on di Canio's future at Upton Park, as Redknapp seems to have finally lost patience with the flamboyant 32-year-old and he now has a lot of explaining to do when his manager finally catches up with him.
