PILGRIMS TAKE MCGLINCHEY ON TRIAL

GILLINGHAM winger Brian McGlinchey has joined Third Division Plymouth Argyle on trial.

The Derry-born, left sided player arrived at The Priestfield Satdium in 1999, on a free transfer from Port Vale. But he has made just one appearence for Andy Hessenthaler`s men so far this season, and has been told he can leave.

McGlinshey began his English career in 1995 with Manchester City, before moving on to Port Vale in 1998.

New Argyle manager Paul Sturrock was impressed with the Northen Irish wide-man`s performance in a reserve game encounter against Yeovil.

"He looked the part, he hasn't played that many games recently but he fitted in very well." said Sturrock. "He is a left footed player and we need at least one more left footer in the squad."
