RIVALDO CONSIDERING INTERNATIONAL FUTURE

WORLD Footballer of the Year, Rivaldo could be sensationally set to quit the Brazilian national team, following the abuse he received during Wednesday's international with Colombia.

The Barcelona playmaker was booed throughout the World Cup qualifying match, which saw Brazil produce a stuttering performance, only claiming victory courtesy of an injury-time winner by Milan`s Roque Junior.

A disillusioned Rivaldo said: "What will my future be? I don't know yet, but the fans exaggerated things. They crossed the line, they were too harsh. I am going to have to rethink my life with the national team.

"I have always given everything, maximum effort, but I am not being recognised for that reason.

"Maybe the time has come to stop, and think about everything before choosing my path. I confess that I am leaving here very sad."

The Brazilian hero is now fully prepared to hang up his famed number 10 shirt, previously worn by legends such as Pele and Zico, for good - following this latest attack.

The victory left Brazil second in the table, still trailing Argentina.
