BARLOW TRANSFER LISTED BY TRANMERE
32-year-old Barlow was snapped by Tranmere on a Bosman-style free transfer - after impressing for Athletic in the lower leagues.
However, after making just 15 appearances for the Division One club - and notching up just three goals - Barlow is back on the market, with 18 months to run on his current contract.
Speaking to the official Tranmere website, manager John Aldridge admitted that Barlow had not settled.
"It is best for everyone to acknowledge sooner rather than later if it is not working out," Aldridge admitted
"Stuart's goalscoring record at Wigan was outstanding, but he is obviously less comfortable with our favoured system."
Barlow was disappointed to have not performed, saying: "I have tried my hardest, but I am not playing in my most natural position and so I find it difficult.
"It's disappointing because I get on well with everyone here and Tranmere Rovers is a great club."
