DANISH STAR GRABS SECOND AWARD
ASTON VILLA target, Ebbe Sand has been voted the Bundesliga player of the month by German newspaper Die Welt for the second time this season.
The Danish international has been a star performer for Schalke 04 which has attracted the attention of John Gregory as he looks to boost his goalscoring power.
Sand said: "I have been notified that I shall have a big interview with the paper 'Die Welt' because I have been selected 'Player of the Month' for November, as in September."
Speaking to Danish daily BT, Sand continued: "It is something I am very proud of. Because it's a fine committee which stands behind it."
Schalke have approached Sand with a view to extending his contract until 2005, and the player said: "Both parties want to settle the issue as fast as possible, but the meeting is scheduled for next week because we have a hectic schedule right now."
