RIDSDALE RIDICULES RONALDO REPORT

LEEDS UNITED chairman Peter Ridsdale has laughed off highly speculative suggestions that Brazilian superstar Ronaldo will be heading for Elland Road in a shock loan deal.

One English tabloid claimed that the Internazionale attacker, still recovering from a career-threatening knee injury, could continue his rehabilitation with a spell in the bruising Premiership.

However, Ridsdale predictably paid little credence to the report, joking: "We`ve got more chance of signing Pele!"

Although the high-profile chairman did again deny making an approach for Ronaldo`s Inter team-mate Robbie Keane, the prospect of the Irishman joining the Yorkshiremen on loan is clearly a more likely one.

Meanwhile, Dutch defender Robert Molenaar is on the brink of quitting the club.

Leeds` official website reported that two approaches have been made for `The Terminator` and he is on the verge of leaving for a fee in the region of £500,000.

Bradford City are believed to be interested in taking the 31-year-old across Yorkshire.
