CHESTERFIELD FACILITATE MICK MOVE
Chesterfield are currently anxious to reduce their wage bill, and they are keen to off-load Galloway to The Cumbrians on a permanent basis. It appears unlikely that any further loan extensions will be agreed between the clubs.
Carlisle boss Ian Atkins is desperate to sign Galloway, who has made a major contribution to the club's bitter struggle to maintain their Football League status this season.
"Hopefully it will be okay to take him permanently," said Atkins.
"Chesterfield have agreed that we can have him for another month provided we try our hardest to keep him on a permanent basis."
It is believed that the United are keen to tie Galloway to an 18-month contract, although the current boardroom in-fighting at Brunton Park has been a thorn in the side of Atkins throughout his tenure as manager.
"Over the next week the powers-that-be will have to start talking to Galloway," added the Cumbrians boss.
The Nottingham-born midfielder will now be eligible to play in Carlisle's two fixtures this week - both against Kidderminster.
On Tuesday, the two teams clash at Aggborough in the LDV Vans Trophy and on Saturday, Atkins' men return to Staffordshire for a second round FA Cup tie.
