BARCA OFFERED VAN DER SAR?

With the Spanish window also open, for a month from December 15th, the deal could be on, with Barca desperate for a keeper after losing Francesc Arnau and Richard Dutruel to injury.

Currently they are relying on 18-year-old unknown Manuel Reina but Juve, where van der Sar has failed to settle, have said they would be willing to talk if they get the 1,300 million pesetas (£4.77 million) they paid Ajax for the player.

Van der Sar has been used as one of the scapegoats for Juve's poor start to the season, whilst the player has said he does not want to stay in Italy, due to the abuse he's received.

The Dutch star's contract runs until 2003 but the Serie A side have already started to look elsewhere with Uruguayan star Fabian Carini watched and Lazio's Luca Marchegiani also in the picture.
