VEGA COMPLETES CELTIC MOVE

CELTIC have completed the free transfer signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Ramon Vega until the end of the season, and manager Martin O'Neill immediately stated that he would like the 29-year-old to stay on after that.

The Swiss international defender passed a medical at Parkhead on Friday evening, and will go straight into O'Neill's squad to face Aberdeen on Saturday.

"I am delighted that Ramon has decided to join us initially until the end of the season," said O'Neill. "It will give us some more defensive options.

"While it is a deal until the end of the season and Ramon is obviously able to speak to anyone in January, we would certainly be open to furthering his contract if everything went well."

Vega has struggled to find a regular place at White Hart Lane, and is looking forward to kick-starting his career in Celtic's SPL title-challenging team.
