SEAGULLS REJECT £1.2M STRIKER BID

CARDIFF CITY have failed with a massive £1.2 million bid for Brighton goal-grabber Bobby Zamora, with their attempt to sign Lincoln`s Gavin Gordon hitting a hitch.

The Bluebirds had lined up a £550,000 deal to bring Gordon to Wales, but there are concerns about his international commitments, and Alan Cork has explored the possibility of signing Zamora.

The Albion hot-shot has been in terrific form this season, netting 16 times, and The Seagulls could have made a massive profit on the £100,000 they paid Bristol Rovers for him in August, had they accepted the City offer.

Cork knows the player from his time as assistant manager on the South Coast, and he is keen to continue his side`s impressive run of form.

Zamora could have formed a lethal partnership with goal-machine Robert Earnshaw at Ninian Park.
