SOUNESS SET TO TIE UP TUGAY
The former Gers boss told the Daily Record that transfer talks had taken place with David Murray.
According to Turkish sources, Tugay is waiting on a move to Ewood Park, despite only arriving from Galatasaray less than a year ago.
Tugay and Souness have already worked with each other when the fiery Scot was in charge of the Turkish giants.
Souness said: "Yes, I have had a conversation with David Murray about Tugay but there is no bid at this stage.
"I have still to speak to my own people at Blackburn before anything can be done.
"He is one of a few names we have spoken about but it is fair to say that there is a Blackburn interest."
Fenerbache were looking to attempt to take the play back to his native country, although it would appear that Rovers have outbid their Turkish counterparts for now.
However, any transfer could hit work permit problems as Turkey is not a member of the EC yet and Tugay has only featured in a limited amount of games for Rangers.
