CABALLERO ARRIVES AT HIGHFIELD ROAD

HONDURAN international Samuel Caballero has flown into Britain with a view to a move to Coventry City and could join fellow countrymen Ivan Guerrero and Jairo Martinez at Highfield Road.

As planetfootball.com told you, The Sky Blues confirmed they were interested in signing the highly rated defender last month, and now he has jetted into England to talk with City chairman Bryan Richardson.

"He is here in England as our guest," Richardson told the official Coventry website. "But there is quite a lot of work to be done yet.

"He has not had a medical but he will be having one over the next day or two. We have agreed terms with his club but we are yet to agree personal terms with the player.

"We have indicated that there are a number of clauses in his contract that need to be agreed upon before any transfer goes ahead.  We obviously hope it goes through soon but we have to make sure a number of issues are addressed before anything is done."

West Ham United, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Tottenham were all linked with the Olimpia player last month, but Coventry are very much in pole-position and could complete a deal, believed to worth £1.1 million , before the end of the year.
