TUNNEL BUSTERS READY FOR GAME

THE two main protagonists from last season's tunnel bust-up between Marseille and Monaco have said they are ready for Wednesday's crunch game.

l'Om assistant coach Christophe Galtier and Monaco midfielder Marcelo Gallardo have both decided to put last season's incident behind him.

Galtier was suspended for six months for his part in the squabble but insists: "What happened last year is in the past.

"I continue to suffer the consequences. I paid a heavy price. So, it is up to me to be exemplary all along my career."

When asked what he would do if he met his nemesis from last season, Gallardo, he said: "If I bumped into him, I will hold out my hand to him. If he accepts, good, if not too bad. We are the two major protagonists and we know what really happened."

Gallardo, who was recently honoured as the France Football French Footballer of the Year said he was looking forward to the match and had no fears for the jeering he will receive at the Stade Velodrome.

"I know what I can expect form the crowd," Gallardo said. "It is not a problem, because I was used to that in Argentina and I like those atmospheres. For the game itself, I have no fear but I have rarely been as motivated. I want to win this match more than any other to give me a beautiful Christmas present."
