CAPELLO: 'REAL ARE GREAT, JUVE DANGEROUS'
Capello is one of the most successful coaches in the world after orchestrating Milan's dominance of football in the late 80s and early 90s, and the Roma boss has seen his capital side race into an early lead so far in the league this season.
"Juventus are the biggest threat," admitted Capello when asked who he thought could compete in the race for the championship. "They have the history, the winning mentality, and, of course, a very good side.
"Real Madrid are my favourites to retain the Champions League and win La Liga, they have a great team that has great confidence and that is the key thing in Spanish football.
"I left Real becaue of a problem between me and the president, nothing else. I have only spoken to [current president] Florentino Perez for a couple of minutes at the Fifa awards but I think he is both a good person and will be a great president.
"I did have the opportunity to return to Real, but Sanz asked me to come right away in January and February and would not wait until the end of the season - so he appointed John Toshack instead."
When asked who he thought the best player in the world was, Inter's Ronaldo was at the top of Capello's list but Rivaldo, Gabriel Batistuta, Luis Figo and Raul all merited enthusiastic compliments.
"Ronaldo is the most dangerous player of recent times, with speed technical ability and a capacity to score goals from anywhere. Raul is brilliant in the area and works well for the team.
"Rivaldo is a player with many qualities and a superb leader - and Batistuta: I have never found a player with the force, the attitude, and the deadliness in the last six metres, along with Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo these are the best in the world."
Although Capello suggested that he will soon sign a new contract to stay at Roma for two years he would not discount a move back to Spain with Barcelona.
"For now I only think of Roma and winning the title, but Barca is a great club and in life you never know what is going to happen."
