NO APPROACHES FOR KAREMBEU

MIDDLESBROUGH manager Bryan Robson has stated that there have been no approaches for Christian Karembeu, following speculation linking the Frenchman with a move to Paris Saint Germain.

The former Real Madrid star has had a patchy start to life in The Premiership, despite scoring against both Manchester United and Liverpool, but Robson is determined that his summer signing will remain at The Riverside.

"There has been no interest in Christian from any club," said Robson.

"He is a Middlesbrough player and, when he has been taken off, it has been for tactical reasons."

Meanwhile, PSG defender Jimmy Algerino, reportedly a target for Boro and Newcastle, has also been watched by Liverpool and Toulouse.

The attacking right back may be more attracted by a move to his hometown club, Toulouse, rather than switching to England but, at 29, he could decide to have a crack at The Premiership.

It remains likely that the former Niort, Monaco, Epinal and Chateauroux man will be leaving the French capital during the transfer window.
