GALATASARAY LINKED WITH MUTU
Despite the club sitting at the top of the Turkish League and boasting the best goal difference in the table, Galatasaray coach Mircea Lucescu wants to sign the 21-year-old before the end of January, to aid their Champions League campaign this season.
Mutu is currently plying his trade at The Bentegodi Stadium, but Inter still hold 50% of his ownership, and both Italian clubs will have to agree to a deal if the player is to move to Turkey.
As reported on Planetfootball on Tuesday, Verona coach Attilio Perotti feels that Mutu is surplus to requirements at the club, and so he is expected to allow the player to leave.
Inter and Galatasaray, meanwhile, are still yet to resolve the matter of payment for Hakan Sukur's move to the San Siro Stadium last summer, and the Mutu deal could be a good opportunity for the clubs to settle their differences.
Meanwhile, Uruguayan striker Antonio Pacheco has put pen-to-paper on a deal with Internazionale, completing his switch from Penarol.
