FOXES PREPARING CORK LINK-UP

LEICESTER CITY are in talks with Eircom League side Cork City over a proposed link-up with the Irish side that would allow them to bring some of their most promising young players to Filbert Street.

The Foxes have had dealings with Cork in the past, when Peter Taylor brought young defender Damien Delaney to the club for £50,000 in October last year, and the Leicester boss is now keen to strengthen the ties with the Irish side.

Cork's secretary Jim Murphy confirmed to planetfootball.com that the two sides were negotiating a deal, saying: "There are discussions taking place between both clubs."

Taylor knows the importance of having a strong youth squad to plan for the future, and he has in the past exploited the links that he formed as England Under-21 boss to bring some young stars to Filbert Street.
