BRADFORD EYE CELTIC SWAP DEAL FOR STAN

CELTIC could offer a footballing lifeline to Bradford City misfit Stan Collymore, in a deal that could see Tommy Johnson move in the opposite direction.

Bantams chairman Geoffrey Richmond has confirmed that the two clubs have talked about the possibility of a swap deal.

‚Ç£We have spoken about a possible exchange deal involving Tommy Johnson and Stan but there is nothing definite happening yet.‚Ç¥

Collymore has been linked with Stuttgart, Paris Saint Germain and Sheffield United, since being placed on the transfer list two weeks ago, but so far nothing concrete has come from any initial interest.

But the former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker would jump at the chance to join his former Leicester City manager Martin O'Neill at Parkhead.

O'Neill took Collymore to Filbert Street, after he was released from Aston Villa, and glimpses of the the form which saw him called up to the England squad, were seen again in the Premiership.

Johnson would also love the move to go ahead as he is desperate to end his torrid spell with Celtic.

He moved to Glasgow in 1997 for £2.4 million from Aston Villa, but an injury plagued time, together with lost form, has seen his first team chances severely limited.

Meanwhile, the other transfer-listed star for Bradford, Beni Carbone, seems set to leave the club - as a number of Italian clubs are lining up to take the former Internazionale ace on loan.

"We're in discussions with Beni's Italian agent at the moment," said Richmond. "It all centres around the possibility of a move back to Italy until the end of the season."
