ILLGNER STAYING IN SPAIN
Illgner has become third choice keeper at the European Champions behind Iker Casillas and Cesar, which is not an ideal situation for the 34-year-old, but the player remains optimistic for the future.
The German giant won the European Cup with Real Madrid and then shortly afterwards was injured.
Rookie keeper Casillas was handed the chance to play and has started most games since then, with Illgner only featuring twice this season - and both games were friendlies.
Illgner acknowledges how well the teenager is playing and sees no reason why coach Vicente Del Bosque should drop him.
"It is probably easier to get a game at Madrid than find a team who would sign me," said the German goalkeeper. "I have not played for over a year and I don't believe anybody would be interested in signing me."
