HOLLERBACH SIGNS NEW HAMBURG DEAL

HAMBURG midfielder Bernd Hollerbach has signed a new contract with the club, disappointing a number of clubs who were looking to sign him on a Bosman in the summer.

The 31-year-old has signed a two-year extension to his current deal, which will keep him at Hamburg until 2003, with an option for a further year.

The news will be a blow to 1860 Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt, German Second Divison outfit Nuremberg and Premiership outfit Coventry, who have all been interested in signing him at the end of the season.

Hollerbach is in his fifth year with the club, having signed from St Pauli in 1996, and he has previously played for Kaiserslautern.
