ALLOA SNAP UP PARS KEEPER

ALLOA have made a raid on the SPL, by taking Dunfermline keeper Scott Thompson on loan.

The Wasps` first-choice shot-stopper Mark Cairns broke his arm during the 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat at the hands of Aberdeen on Saturday, prompting manager Terry Christie to make a move for Thompson.

This is the latest piece of cup misery for Cairns, after he sustained an injury in Scottish Cup tie against Dundee United at Recreation Park in February 2000.

Thompson has played for Forfar Athletic, Dundee United and Hull City and was picked up by Pars boss Jimmy Calderwood after being released by Airdrie.

He has failed to command a regular place and will be looking to put himself in the shop window with Alloa.
