PIRLO JOINS BRESCIA ON LOAN

BRESCIA have moved to sign Italian Under-21 star Andrea Pirlo on loan from Serie A rivals Internazionale.

The 22-year-old playmaker had indicated that he wanted to leave Inter after failing to earn a regular place in the starting line-up and he wanted a move for regular first-team football.

Pirlo, who spent most of last season on loan at Reggina, has found it hard to overtake Dutchman Clarence Seedorf for a place in the starting line-up, so he will be trying to impress to win a permanent move away from Inter.

The highly-rated ace, who was expected to make the long-awaited breakthrough at The Giuseppe Meazza Stadium this season, is believed to have started training with Carlo Mazzone's side in preparation for this week's round of Serie A games.

Mazzone is keen to take the skilful star to the Marca Rigamonti Stadium as he tries to strengthen his squad in a bid to stave off relegation.

Pirlo could make his debut for the struggling side in this weekend's vital home clash with Milan.
