OLSEN GETS FOREST PERMIT
The 23-year-old midfielder was forced to fly back to the United States at the end of December, after his work-permit ran out, as it only covered his initial three-month loan period.
Olsen then went to play for his club DC United in the Concacaf Cup, but he is now clear to return to England.
"I'm delighted that we've sorted the permit out for Ben as he's proved himself a vital part of our plans," said Forest boss David Platt.
"Before he returned to the States he had been an important member of the squad and it was no coincidence that we had an excellent run up to Christmas with him in the side."
If all the paperwork is finalised in time, Olsen should return to the Forest line-up for Saturday`s crucial clash with Blackburn Rovers.
Meanwhile, trialist Ronnie O`Brien is still kicking his heels on the sideline as he is yet to receive international clearence from the Italian Football Associtaion, which would allow him to play in a reserve game for Forest.
"The Italian FA are being incredibly slow and have not done me any good," said O`Brien. "It's very frustrating because I just want to show the Forest people what I can do."
