FACEY- "NICO SHOULD PLAY FOR BELGIUM"

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN striker Delroy Facey feels that his team-mate at the McAlpine Stadium Nico Vasen is worthy of a call up to the Belgium national side.

The 31-year-old shot-stopper put in a tremendous performance in the 2-2 draw with promotion chasers Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, and Facey believes he deserves the chance to shine on the international stage.

"He is one of the best," said Facey. "He should be Belgium's number one keeper."

Vassen, who joined the Terriers in 1998 for a bargain fee of £80,000 from Enderecht Aulst, has proved to be a tremendous signing with a string of inspirational performances and he is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers outside the top flight in England.

Vassen has seen his chances of making a breakthrough for Belgium limited by the inclusion of Filip de Wilde and Geert de Vlieger as the choices of goalkeepers for the national side.
