ANELKA SLAMS PSG FANS

PARIS SAINT GERMAIN striker Nicolas Anelka has blasted the club's fans for treating him with a lack of respect.

The former Arsenal and Real Madrid ace has revealed that he thinks he has been treated unfairly by the side's supporters for his recent poor form.

The 21-year-old French international hopes that the goal he scored in the midweek Champions League draw with AC Milan will help get the fans back on his side.

"A lot of people are unhappy with me because I earn money," Anelka told the club's official website. "They don't respect me-just for that.

"They forget very quickly that I work very hard every time I go on the pitch. I give everything. Always. I do my job as a number nine and I help distribute the ball. No-one can think I will score every time I have the ball."

The controversial forward also claimed that he felt that his team-mates and PSG coach Luis Fernandez were being harshly treated by the fans.

"The supporters should try coming down on to the pitch, to show us how easy it is," said Anelka. "It's not good to insult us when things are not going well and then applaud us when things work out.

"You have to have respect. I hope that when I score at the Parc des Princes they stay seated."

Anelka also pledged his future to the capital club despite all the problems, as he wanted to be a success with his first club.

"I did not come to Paris to earn money, I came to put myself at the service of the squad," said Anelka.

"I came back to my club to win trophies. I want to win things with PSG. Otherwise, I would have stayed at Real Madrid."

Meanwhile the club have been dealt a major blow with the news the club's main backer Canal+ are trying to sell their 57% stake in the club for £97 million.

According to La Tribune, the pay television company needs to cut annual costs and PSG, who are expected to announce a loss of £19 million in the last year, have been targeted as the first alternative to balance the books.

Canal+ now need to find a new buyer and this may delay any move for them to end their interest in the French giants.
