SCHWARZ GETS SUNDERLAND CAPTAINCY
SUNDERLAND boss Peter Reid has named Swedish midfielder Stefan Schwarz as captain for the FA Cup clash against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
The former Arsenal and Fiorentina ace replaces Michael Gray who is suspended for the game.
Schwarz admitted that the club are entering a vital stage of the season and that it is important they win as many games as possible.
"We have much to play for the in the next three matches, every one is like a cup final," said Schwarz. "It starts with West Ham on Saturday. Then, we have eleven league matches left and we have got to be focused in all of them.
"At this point of the season, we are dependent on good results and if we can play entertaining football to achieve that, it is good."
