TOTTI WINS GOAL OF YEAR PRIZE
THE HALL OF FAME commission of Italian FA have chosen the best Italian goal of last year.
The commission voted the impudent penalty by Francesco Totti against Holland in the semi-finals of Euro 2000 as the best goal of last season.
The AS Roma star chipped Dutch goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar in the penalty shootout, helping Italy to reach the final.
Totti will receive the prize next Monday at Teatro Della Pergola in Florence.
The Italian FA will also celebrate the best four Italian players in the history of football.
