D-DAY FOR DONS STAR
The 24-year-old has been locked in talks with his agent Gordon Smith after The Dons have issued their ultimatum.
Rowson has maintained that he wants to sign a new deal at Pittodrie when his current contract runs out in the summer. However, the lifelong Aberdeen fan might be forced to look for another club if the two parties cannot get nearer to agreeing personal terms.
Dons boss Ebbe Skovdahl has said that he would like to keep Rowson but does not want any uncertainty around the player's future unsettling the squad for the rest of the season.
"It is important we get all the negotiations finished in order that we can focus on playing football," said Skovdahl.
"We have offered David a deal that is similar to that given to other players of his age at the club.
"If he rejects the offer then he will be placed on the transfer list - even though he will still be part of my plans right through to the end of the season. But I would rather know his intentions."
Rowson has impressed in midfield and at right back and thinks that his form and versatility entitles him to a better deal with the club.
It is believed that, after a failure for the matter to be resolved, Rowson is now open to offers from interested parties.
