KANU`S AGENT BACKTRACKS
Sedoc has said that he has not said anything to Arsenal about Kanu, but his comments on Tuesday evening would suggest otherwise.
"I fear Kanu will not be picked against Lyon because Dennis Bergkamp and Sylvain Wiltord have both been making noises about being left out," said Sedoc to The Express. "If he does not play then the relationship is at an end.
"That is not a threat, it is the truth and I am happy that some of the biggest clubs in Europe contacted me about Kanu after Sunday`s game against Chelsea.
"They are very interested to know Kanu is unsettled.
"How is it possible that Kanu played a perfect match when they beat Lyon last Tuesday, but then is not good enough to even get one minute against Chelsea on Sunday."
Sedoc rebuffed this and said: "I certainly never gave Arsenal an ultimatum.
"The only person I've spoken to there [Arsenal] is David Dein yesterday, where we discussed an interview in Sunday's News of the World,
"I'm aware of his situation at Arsenal, he's under contract until 2004.
"I can make no comment on Real Madrid speculation but I certainly never gave Arsenal any kind of ultimatum."
The 24-year-old striker has started just two games this year and is seemingly becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of first team opportunities at Highbury.
However, even if the former Internazionale star does play on Wednesday, it seems that his career with The Gunners could be coming to an end.
Wenger, though, will have been annoyed with the comments by the Nigerian`s agent even if he has moved to deny them. The Frenchman himself stated on Tuesday that his strikers would have to fight for their places.
"Any reasons you give for resting them will be wrong as far as they are concerned," said Wenger. "So it is best not to say too much to them.
"I can understand the strikers want to play, but unless you have four you have no chance. As long as their frustration has positive consequences it`s okay.
"Players are human beings, sometimes they are frustrated and you have to accept that.
"I don`t mind criticism, but every champion shows how strong he is on the field.
"We don`t live in a world where everyone has to be nice, as long as they do it on the pitch I am happy.
"I have worked with the best strikers in the world for 10 years and I don`t think you have to convince anybody that what you are doing is right, it's just part of their job to cope with it.
"I have seen their best response on the field, that`s what a manager respects most."
A number of Europe`s top clubs are known to have shown an interest in recent weeks and European champions Real Madrid were the last club to be credited with interest.
