TAMUDO'S DRIVING CONCERNS

ESPANYOL's star striker Raul Tamudo will appear in a Barcelona court this Thursday on charges of fraud, having allegedly asked a friend to take his driving theory test and if found guilty, he could receive up to a year in prison.

Like England, Spanish citizens have to pass both a theory and practical test to gain their driving license.

The prosecution will allege that Tamudo gave his identification to a friend, who then sat the exam and as a result, the player now has a driving licence.

Since the theory test was passed, Tamudo has been driving for the last 13 months although it is possible he falsely obtained his driving licence.

Earlier reports confirmed that Tamudo had previously failed the theory examination on numerous occasions and that he was going to be out of town on the day of the latest exam.

The Spanish authorities are demanding a one-year prison sentence, but it is more likely that, as this is a first offence, Tamudo and his friend will just receive hefty fines.
