DAUM SET TO RAID OLD CLUB

NEW Besiktas coach Christoph Daum is looking forward to strengthening his side for next season, and has set his sights on two players from his old club Bayer Leverkusen.

The Turkish club are fourth in the league and Daum has all but given up chance of winning the title this year and is concentrating on next term.

He has already cast doubt on some of his current squad by saying that "Besiktas' two goalkeepers are not good enough and Nouma is a problem."

The German coach has now set his sights on striker Paulo Rink and goalkeeper Pascal Zuberbuhler from Bayer Leverkusen.

Leverkusen coach Berti Vogts is said to want to sell Rink at the end of the season and he could be a straight replacement for French striker Pascal Nouma.

Nouma is not happy in Turkey and has had several problems on and off the field resulting in him being suspended by former coach Nevio Scala.

Swiss international goalkeeper Zuberbuhler is on loan at Leverkusen until the end of the season but has said that he does not want to stay after that period.
