BARCA COMPILING LIST OF TARGETS

Midfield star Sergio, who plays his football across the city with Espanyol, is one target for president Joan Gaspart`s close season spending.

The 24-year-old, who has been at Montjuic since 1995, has caught the eye with some splendid performances for the cash-strapped club.

"We all like it that teams of this level follow us," he admitted. "I am proud and feel flattered because there are other clubs who ask for me.

"It is a signal that I am doing well and that my work is being valued."

Another name reportedly on Barca`s hit-list is Las Palmas starlet Antonio Guayre.

The Spanish Under-21 international forward has been quick to pledge his future to the Canary Islands outfit, in the wake of speculation that Paris Saint Germain also covet his services.

"Every day it is something different and it seems that I am wanting to leave," he complained. "It is not so, and I want to make this clear.

"People can misinterpret the club`s rejection of an offer and that already I am looking for an exit.

"They have already spoken about Paris Saint Germain because Luis Fernandez has asked of me."

Although he recently rejected the offer of a new contract with Las Palmas, due to the fact that the terms did not offer a noteable improvement (according to Guayre) the striker has denied any contact with Barca and wants to concentrate on his football.
