SAVIO DANCING TO FLAMENGO TUNE
Savio could well be allowed to leave Real Madrid in June, having failed to secure a regular playing position, unlike Steve McManaman, after last summer's reports of a possible move to Chelsea fell through.
Indeed, Savio was the subject of much speculation last year, although in the end he decided to stay at El Santiago Bernabeu.
According to Brazilian news agency 'Estado', Savio will speak with Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque later this week in order to ease his exit from the European Champions.
Savio told Estado: "I was playing all the time before, but now I seldom make the starting 11."
Asked about Del Bosque, Savio replied: "I don't know what he expects of me, I do everything he asks me to, but it appears it is still not enough."
Savio is also desperate to once again wear the shirt of the Brazilian national team, and has not ruled out a move home in order for that to happen.
Savio said: "If I have to return to Brazil, then it must be a club from Rio, preferably Flamengo."
The samba star joined Madrid from Flamengo three years ago and he has a contract with them until 2003.
The Brazilian does not want to leave, but knows in order to play first-team football then that decision may have already been made for him.
Savio said: "Personally I would like to stay because I like it here, but I have to think of my career. From now until June something has to change."
