GIBSON SLAMS `HEARTLESS` REF
Substitute Roy Essandoh, who signed after answering an SOS from manager Lawrie Sanchez on the club`s website, slotted home in the last minute, prompting joyous celebrations.
Chairboys skipper Brown expressed his joy by removing his shirt, and Bennett took offence to this, dismissing the flabbergasted 34-year-old.
Bennett`s performance infuriated Wycombe throughout the game, with Sanchez being dismissed for protesting (pictured) too vehemently when he felt his side should have been awarded a penalty.
Gibson, though, did admit that he was warned prior to the incident, but still slammed the decision on Sunday morning, saying: "I must say that I went in to change the team sheet before the game and the referee did make the point that if anyone took off their shirt he would take action, and it looked like he could not wait to do it.
"I spoke to him afterwards and said that I thought it was heartless, no one really noticed that Steve Brown took his shirt off.
"We are a Division Two team, playing at a Premiership club, who have just scored what happened to be the winning goal in the quarter final of the FA Cup and, to do that, I think he [Bennett] was drawing attention to himself."
Bennett is likely to have angered Wycombe further, after it was confirmed that he was reporting Sanchez to the FA following the clash.
